Our artisan approach to making sausages enables us to keep a keen eye on quality and ensure every batch that leaves us tastes as good as our customers have come to expect.
Powters began making Newmarket Sausages in 1881 from our shop in Wellington Street where we still trade from to this day. Since then things have grown a little, as well as the famous (PGI protected) Newmarket Sausage, we now make over 9 different varieties (with a slightly bigger place to make them in!).
Our sausages are available from many major supermarkets including Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and CO-OP as well as online via our mail delivery service. We’re now in our fifth generation and the business is still very much family run.
We have retained the values on which we built the brand all that time ago - quality of ingredients and a love of good honest food. Unlike many producers we retain a team of skilled butchers to carefully trim and hand select all the cuts of British pork we use in our sausages. We then mix our secret blend of herbs and spices and using natural skins and no artificial flavours or colours produce what we believe to be the best sausages you will find made to the highest standards. With farming and butchery in the family since 1881 we know a thing or two about good food!
